Moore’s Septic Services provides effluent filter cleaning and replacement throughout Fairfield and Pickaway counties, northern Ross County, and northern Hocking County. Schedule a separate filter-service visit or ask about having your filter serviced during a septic tank pump-out.
Call or text 740-415-7760 to discuss your system and availability.

Why your effluent filter matters
An effluent filter helps protect your drainfield by catching solids before they leave the tank. When a filter becomes clogged, it can restrict flow and contribute to a backup—even when the tank was recently pumped.
I take time to explain your filter’s purpose, how it fits, and what maintenance it needs.
How often should the filter be cleaned?
I recommend effluent filter cleaning every six months, following your system’s manufacturer guidance and local requirements. Filter maintenance follows its own schedule. Your tank’s pumping schedule depends on its condition and service needs.
A filter-service visit near Lithopolis
A homeowner near Lithopolis called me about a septic backup. He said his tank had been pumped a few months earlier, but he hadn’t been told his system had an effluent filter.
I found and cleaned the clogged filter, explained its directional fit, and recommended cleaning every six months for his system. He joined my service program for twice-yearly filter visits so he could leave the scheduling and cleaning to me.
Keep track of your system’s maintenance
My Six-Month Septic Maintenance Program includes filter cleaning, aerator motor and pump maintenance as applicable, and sludge-level measurements recorded at each visit. Those readings help us track when your tank needs pumping.
